Our wedding will take place at Tonnara di Scopello, a historic estate nested on a sparkling limestone cove in the town of Scopello, Sicily. Scopello is an enchanting seaside village overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, with sweeping views of the dramatic rocky coastline and surrounding hillsides.

While it’s a bit out of the way, we promise to make it worth your while.

GETTING AROUND
Sicily is an island off the southern coast of Italy, and is the largest island in the Mediterranean sea. Tonnara di Scopello is on the northwestern tip of the island, just west of Palermo. We recommend using Google Flights to find the best route to Sicily.
Airports
There are two airports close to Scopello that connect to many larger international airports throughout Europe.
• Palermo (PMO) 45 mins away from Scopello by car
• Trapani (TPS) 55 mins away from Scopello by car
We highly recommend staying in the charming town of Scopello, so that you'll be able to get to the venue easily, and explore the surrounding areas. Book your stay early in advance, as Scopello is a small town with limited accommodation options.

There is a lot to explore in Sicily, and because public transportation is limited, we would strongly recommend renting a car for the full Sicilian experience. Please note that there are no taxis or Ubers in the area.
Renting a car
When renting a car, make sure to reserve in advance, especially if you want an automatic transmission. Most booking platforms will default to a manual transmission, so ensure that you're selecting the correct option when booking.

Note: Legally, an International Driver’s Permit is required to drive in Italy. AAA offers them via mail or at one of their offices. You may or may not be asked by car rental agencies but if you get pulled over, it most likely will be requested by officials.
Hiring a driver
If you'd prefer to arrange a driver to bring you to and from the airport, or take you on excursions around the area, you can do that as well!

We've been recommended Trinacria Car Service. The cost of the transfer with an 8-seater van from Palermo airport to Tonnara di Scopello is €100 for 1-4 people, or €140 for 5-8 people.

By train
The Castellammare Del Golfo train station is the closest one to Scopello at 20 mins away. Taxis may not be readily available there, so we would recommend arranging a driver to take you from the train station to Scopello.
By  foot
Tonnara di Scopello is 15 mins away by foot from the town center of Scopello, where many hotels are located. It's walkable, but is a little bit hilly won't be comfortable in dress shoes and heels.

Shuttle pickups and dropoffs will be provided from the town center, where hotels are located, to the venue on the day of the welcome party. Door-to-door shuttle transportation will be provided for wherever you are staying on the day of the wedding.
